So we’re going to mandate our vehicles make a whopping 35MPG in fuel efficiency by 2020 (12 years from now?). Perhaps I’m crazy, but that sounds extremely low to me — most the cars I’ve driven are already hitting 25-30 — squeezing out that extra 5 seems more like doing something that only looks good on paper. Come back with 50mpg and I’ll care.
