California Host, one of San Francisco’s leading third party meeting planning companies, has an exciting opportunity for an innovative, energetic and creative person in the meeting and events industry. Company services include meetings, incentives, conferences, destination management services, special events and tradeshows. We’re seeking a highly motivated individual for a non-paid internship web design project. This project will include updating/re-designing our current website implementing Web 2.0/Search Engine Optimization (SEO) techniques, creating banners, graphics, icons, collateral, direct mail, emails, microsites, powerpoint, etc. We require a candidate who is passionate about designing and coding attractive and effective design solutions and intelligent user experiences. It is imperative that the candidate is reliable, consistent, meticulous, quick on the uptake, a clean coder, and puts quality first.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Re-design our current website to be SEO compatible
•Take submitted design briefs and produce deliverables that communicate the information in a clear, concise, and compelling way
•Programming emails, microsites, web site pages, etc.
•Design and code deliverables to technical and brand requirements, always aligning with best practices
•Produce design ideas, concepts, and final deliverables
•Implement feedback in a timely fashion
REQUIREMENTS:
•HTML and CSS skills (Hand-coded)
•Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Flash
•Solid understanding of design principles (typography, color, layout, proportion, motion, etc.)
•Solid understanding of web technologies/standards/accessibility
•Understanding of WEB 2.0, SEO and other search engine techniques.
•Extreme attention to detail
•Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time with concurrent deliverables
•Ability to complete projects with minimal supervision
•Excellent communication (written and verbal) and organizational skills
•Enthusiasm for a fast-paced and collaborative environment
•Experience with email development and deployment a plus.
•PHP, JavaScript, XHTML, AJAX skills a plus
